John Grundy is a public health academic and community health nurse who since 1988 has been working on health development projects in the Asian region and in the field of remote area health in central Australia. Specialty areas are health system strengthening, (health management and health planning) and immunization. John is currently working as short term public health consultant in the Asian region and is based in Phnom Penh Cambodia. Recently he has assisted with developing health system strengthening strategies in North Korea, Myanmar and Cambodia and conducted public health research and evaluation activities in Vietnam and Cambodia that have included a review of national immunization programs, a health access study for the urban poor and climate change adaptation planning. He has published widely in peer reviewed literature, mostly in the fields of health system strengthening and immunization. He is currently a member of the Independent Review Committee (monitoring) of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization based in Geneva.
