Young professionals working with the Nossal Institute in India
The Nossal Institute for Global Health's work in non-communicable disease control has predominantly been in tobacco control. The institute carries out:
- situation analysis
- strategic planning
- capacity building
- workshops on community intervention
- research and writing articles for refereed journals
Much of the institute's experience in tobacco control has incorporated a focus on gender issues.

Strategic Planning - Vietnam National Tobacco Control Program
Description: A train-the-trainer program was undertaken in 2004 to build capacity within the Vietnam Committee on Smoking and Health (Ministry of Health) and at provincial levels to plan and evaluate the national tobacco control program. This was followed in 2006 with activities to develop the second 5-year plan for the national program.
